The dictionary describes ‘antipodes’ as opposite ends of the world, and so derives the word frequently used to describe the many Aussies and Kiwis wandering the Northern Hemisphere – Antipodeans. Mike Sheahan is one such Australian who left the sophisticated sidewalks of Brisbane to delve into the dynamic London coffee scene and take over the capital one flat white at a time.
Armed with serious barista skills and a deep desire to caffeine weary work-goers, Mike left a background in mass communication and from March 2013 began serving up the best hot bevs this side of the equator to the folks of Fulham, when the first Shot opened on buzzing Jerdan Place.
From Fulham to Parsons Green and, most soon to be Victoria, Shot Espresso is thriving and South West London is loving it. Offering up Antipodean-style breakfasts and brunches – toasted sourdough to-die-for and the best Chai Lattes you’ve ever tasted – our little café is your home-away-from-home, with staff that are guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
But as you sip on that morning double espresso, don’t forget about enjoying an evening aperitivo with us too. Our transition from breakfast to lunch to evening bar is a smooth one – so whether you’re after an Espresso Martini pick-me-up, Aperol Spritz refresher or Coopers Australian Pale Ale with your pals, we’ve got all your beverage needs covered.
